My name is Erin Kopelow and as the MASA Coordinator I would like to welcome you to Israel. You are about to begin one of the most exciting, fulfilling and challenging experiences of your life and I can promise you this: at the end of your program, you will not be the same.
As a participant on a MASA affiliated program you are now a member of two communities. On the one hand, you are a participant on a specific program that reflects your values, ideologies, interests and style. On the other hand, you are one of over 8,000 Jews between the ages of 18 and 30 who have chosen to spend a significant period learning, working and volunteering in Israel on one of MASA's 160 long-term.
Within this large MASA community are other observant women who share similar values and confront similar challenges as yourself. Datiyot – the social network for observant women on a MASA program – is a space that enables real dialogue, discussion and interchange between you as well as providing a platform for your own voice and self-expression.
If you're interested in becoming more involved in Datiyot or Footprints - MASA Participant Publications - as an editors, writers, photographers, artists or web marketing please contact me. It is a great opportunity for you develop your professional portfolio while making quality connections here in Israel and around the world.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you throughout the year. In the meantime safe travels and see you here soon!
